Thanks for those who attended the Drone Summit!

Thank you so much for joining us at the historic 2013 Drone Summit. We are proud to say that it was a major success with over 400 attendees (plus thousands watching our livestream and C-SPAN coverage), including activists, artists, academics and students from around the globe, all working together against the use of killer and spy drones.

The presentations and workshops were nothing short of incredible. Read about them in this article by one of the Summit speakers, Marjorie Cohn. It was especially meaningful for us that our featured speakers were delegates from Yemen, who told us first-hand accounts of life under drones.

In addition to the Summit, we protested at the White House and General Atomics headquarters, lobbied Congress and held a Congressional briefing with Yemeni drone victims, all of which were huge successes! There were also 4 members of the National Campaign for Nonviolent Resistance arrested on Monday at the Dirksen Senate building during a peaceful demonstration outside Senator Schumer’s office.

Here is what you can do:

1. Check out and share photos from the Summit on Flickr.

2. Watch the archived footage on Ustream and Dr. Cornel West’s opening remarks on C-SPAN.

3. Get two copies of Medea’s newly updated book, Drone Warfare: Killing By Remote Control. Keep one for yourself and donate the other to your local library!

4. Share this drone fact sheet with friends, colleagues & family.

5. Get a CODEPINK “Drone Free Zone” t-shirt in pink or gray!

5. Keep up to date with the latest drone news on Global Drones Watch.

Thanks again to everyone who turned up, tuned in online, followed on Twitter, and donated to the summit. Our greatest love and appreciation for all you did to make it possible!

Onward toward a drone-free world,
Noor Mir and the CODEPINK DC team
